Des 011a - Introducing the text

With any text it is possible to misunderstand what is being said and not to see issues until they are pointed out to you. However, with the opening of Descartes' Meditations it is certainly possible to pick up the gist of the argument just by reading it through. In this course you are expected to have a good knowledge of the text so a good place to start with Mediatation One and the Cogito in Meditation Two is by just reading the text.
